DESIGN FOR A PICTURE-HANGER.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 17,704, dated September 13, 1887.

Application filed August 12, 1887. Serial No. 246,811. Term of patent 14 years.

' new and original Design for Picture Hooks or Hangers; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.

My invention is a new design for picturehangers, and is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, and is fully disclosed in the following specification and claims.

Figure l is a perspective view of my hanger provided with a plain surface. Fig. 2 is a like view of a hanger finished with ornamental figures thereon. Fig. 3 is a like View of a modification of the design shown in Fig. 2.

In my design I employ two vertically-dis posed parts, A A, each provided at its upper end with a rearwardlycurving portion, forming ahook. These parts,at or near their lower ends, have a bar or strip, B, extending from one to the other. This bar or strip is plain, as

shown in Fig. 1, or it may have ornamental figures thereon, as shown in Fig. 2. Such figures may be on an additional plate or plates or strips attached to the hanger, as shown in Fig. 3.0 3. The figured design may be of any preferred pattern, and the vertical parts A A and their curved portions may be ornamented in the same manner as the bar or strip, or in a different manner when desired. The hanger is provided with a suitably-located projection or projections, as at a a.

What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

1. The design for a picture-hanger, consisting of two vertically-disposed parts having rearwardly-extending curved portions at their upper ends and a bar or strip extending from one to the other at or near their lower ends, said parts being provided with a projection or projections, substantially as shown.

2. The design for a picture-hanger, consisting of two vertically-disposed parts, each provided at its upper end with a rearwardlycurved portion, and at or near their lower ends having a bar or strip extending from one to the other, said bar being provided with an ornamental figured surface, the said hanger being provided with aprojection or projections, substantially asshown.
