DESIGN FOR A RING-SETTING.

To all whom it may concern.-
Be it; known that I, HARVEY HUI-ISTlS, of the city and county of Providence, and State of Rlrode Island, have iuirentctl a new and original DcsigirforSettiugs fol-Rings, of which thel'ollowiugis a full, clear, and exact description, reference being; had to tho accounpanying drawings, forming a part ot'this speck timtiou.
The leading feature of my design consists in a ring-settiug'having plain sirri'uccs alternating with flirted, ribbed, or corrugated surfaces, and surrounding the stone or jewel mounted in the setting.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a plan view of a square setting having curved angles. Fig. 2 is a similar vicwof a square setting having plniuaiuiglcs. Fig. 31 is a Siilliillifll. view of an oval settling. Fig. 4 is a side elevation ot the design shown: in Fig. 3.

As shown in Fig. l, the setting is square. with its angles curred, in Fig. 2 the setting is square with plain angles, and: in Fig. 3 the setting is oral. By this disposition of the plain and fluted, ribbed, or corrugated. surfaces a highly ornaiurentail appearance: is produced.
The desigm: is applicable to fancy or plain forms of settings generally.
Having thus described my new and original design, I claim as nowaud desire to secure by Letters Patent- 1. The design for a: ring-setting, consisting of the alternated corrugated and plain surfaces on. the outer sides and; upper edges of the settiugu'im, as shown.
2. The design for ring-settings, consisting 45 'ot' the plain sections c, the; corrugated sectiiOlllS (1i, and the side sections, a a, corrugated on their upper surfaces. as shown.
