SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 11,722, dated April 13, 1880. Application filed March 13, 1880. Term of patent 3} years.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that we, ALONZO B. BAILEY and HARRISON BRAINARD. of Cobalt, in the county of Middlesex and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Design for CoflinHandles; and we do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and the letters of reference marked thereon, to bea full, clear, and

Figure 1, a front view of the socket; Fig. 2, a front View of the bar, lever, and tip.
This invention relates to a design for cofifinhandles, such as are hinged to a pair of sockets and the sockets secured to the cofiin; and the invention consistsin the shape and ornamentation of the parts, as hereinafter described, and shown in the accompanyingillustration.
The socket represents a pair of pedestals, a b, one at each side, molded at their lower end, and resting on a base composed of several sections, 0 d e, ofl'setting one from the other, the pedestals terminatingin a spear-shaped point. Between the pedestals the socket A is formed to receive the lever. Above is a scroll, partially rolled atthe top, as at B, its end falling down upon the face, and the surface below ornamented by floriated tracery, all as shown in the accompanying illustration.

and are joined together We claim 1. The design for coffin-handle socket, consisting of the pedestals a b, resting on the base 0 d c, with the scroll B between them, and the space between the scroll and the socket A ornamented, all as described, and shown in the accompanying illustration.
2. The design for coflinliandle lever, consisting of the base f, column 9, and the spearshaped top h, as shown in the accompanying illustration.
3. The design for coflin-handle tip, consisting of the detached columns I, resting on the bases n, terminating in spear shape at their upper end, and united upon the tip 8, as shown in the accompanying illustration.
