smunr. HEBMANN, or cmcrmmrr, 0310.
To all whom it may concern: Be'it known that I, SAMUEL Hermann, a citizen of the United States of America, and resident of Cincinnati, county of Hamilton, State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Shoe-Racks, of which the following is a specification.
The object of my invention is a shoe rack, which is durable and convenient for sup porting shoa in variouspositions.
Referring "to the accompanying drawings, in which like parts are indicated by similar reference letters, Figure 1 is an end view of a shoe rack embodying my invention. F' .2 is an .endview of one of the cross I and a shoe support, upon an enlarged scale Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the parts illustrated in Fig, 2. Fig. 4 is a view. of
the cross-rod and of a modified form of the support upon line H Fig. 5. 5 is a perspectiveview of the parts shown in 4.
The rack consists of end frames, A,.crossrods, B, and a series of shoe supports,
mounted upon the crossrods, B. The en the standards. The cross-rods consist of two metal bars, I), 6', between which the bolts, a, of the end frames are grasped, the bars being held to ether by screws, b. The series oFf cross-r are staggered, as shown in 'Each of the series of shoe supports of the form shown in Figs. 1 through '3, consists of a wire bent into three loops, 0, c', and c.- .The centralloop, c, has parallel sides. The loops, 0, andcfihave bends, c and c in them so as to form sockets, c and c with thesides of the loop, c, and so-as to form sockets in the outer .ends of each Loops, c, and c ,'h'ave outer sides bent upwardinto lugs, c and c. The Inner.
bends, a and c, of the wires pass around screws, b and b of the cross rods andthe ends of the wires stand adjacent to screws, 6 and b in the cross rods. Each 8:35.011, C, is inclined upward from the cross Specification of Letters Patent.

In use a pair of shoes may be supported in passing the tops between the loop, 0, and the loop, a, and between the loop, cand the sockets, c and 0', respectively. In this position the lugs, c and c contacting the parallel to the plane of the support A .of'the wire surorunds a screw 6, o th crossbarsandtheendsofthewirestand adcross bars the loops have oil-sets, d, and d. The outer sides of the loops have upwardly projecting lugs, d and d.
In use a pair of shoes is supported upon v each sup rt', the heels of the shoes abu frames are made preferably of vertical tubes g connected by. horizontal rods, 12, a, and of intermediate bolts, a, which pass through against e off-set, d, df and the soles re'sting upon the loops, the lugs, d, d, contact- 'thesifles of the shoes.
