[Terni of patent 7 years] To all 'whom 'it 'may concern .Be it known that I, HERMAN Yassnun, of iallingtorth in the count) of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a. new Dcsign for Spoons: and I do hcrebliv declare the following', when taken in connection with the accompanying' drawing and the letters of ret'- erence marked thereon, to be a fall, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawing constitutes part of this specification, and represents a face Yiew of the handle.
This invention relates to a design for spoons, forks, and like articles of table service; and consists in the configuration of the handle, as hereinafter described, and shown in the accompanying illustration.
About midway of the length ot' the handle is a. boss, u. Front this point the handle gradually widens in a line slightly curved outward toward the top. Near the top the sidelines turn suddenl \v outward and upward into about a semicirele, the two semicireles thus formed connected by a single but larger semieirele, forming the tip ot' the handle. On each side is a head springing' from a scroll at the boss fr upward io the seinicirele at the sides, and, followingthat, forms a rosette on each ed ge of the handle within the headed edges. On the su r face and between the said rosettes a head is run, following the semicircular line ofthe tip, tapering down to the rosettes, forming a central panel. The space at the side ot' the panel and below the rosettcs may he ornaniented by a tracery, as shown.
