DESIGN FOR A BADGE.
Specification forming part of Design No. 10,528, dated March 12,1878 application filed Septemher-8, 1877.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Brennan Rmcrcwrrz, of New York city, in the county and State of New York, have originated a Design for a Badge, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying lithographic illustration, making part of this specification, in which- A represents an ornamental border, presenting a line of ovals with intervening diamonds, with nearly triangular intervening spaces; B, ornamental corners of quadrant form; C,arising sun; D, divergent rays therefrom, and E suitable lettering indicating the sentiment. Other ornaments, as butterflies or the like, may be added at will.
I have shown a. half of the design. The other half is an exact counterpart of this which is shown, difl'cring only in the words to complete the sentiment, which, in the case represented, is Home, Sweet Home. The words may be varied at will.
The whole may be printed from a stone, plate, block, or cut, or otherwise worked. It may be executed in any color, or in a variety of colors, adapted to produce a harmonious effect.
What I claim as my invention is-- 1. The design for a badge-composed of the rising sun 0, divergent rays D, and border A, comprising a line of ovals with intervening diamonds, and ornamental corners B of quadrant form, and superposed letters E, substantially as described, and shown in the accompanying illustration.
2. The design for a badge, composed of the border A, comprising a line of ovals with intervening diamonds, triangular intervening spaces, ornamental corners B, and superposed lettering E, as described and shown.
