WALLACE DURAND, OF NEW'ARK, NEW JERSEY.
DESIGN FOR A BROOCH.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 23,372, dated June 19, 1894. A plication filed May 25,1894- Serial No- 512,485. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, \VALLACE DURAND, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Breastpins, Brooches, and the Like; and I do herebydeelare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, and to letters of reference marked thereon, which forms a part of this specification.
The figure of the drawing is a face view of a breast-pin or brooch embracing my new design, and is deemed sutficient to fully illustrate the same.
The leading feature of the design consists in a brooch or breast-pin,on the front face of which is displayed an ornamental figure resembling twins at the center, and at its edges having ornamental representations of hawthorn blossoms.
In said drawing, (1, indicates the brooch or breast pin, b, the central ornament resembling twins, 0, an ornamental representation of the zodiacal sign for the constellation Gemini, and (I, (Z, are open spaces or panels for inscriptions. Around the edges of the brooch, which are substantially round but irregular in general outline, are flower-shaped ornaments resembling hawthorn blossoms, g, and conventionalized leaves or scrolls, h.
\Vhat I claim as new is- The design for a brooch or breast-pin herein shown and described.
