IMPROVEMENT IN POCKETS FOR EGG-CARRIERS.

.. To all whom rit may concern.-

- Be it known that I, ABNER H.IBRYANT, of Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia, and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and valuable Improvement in Pockets for Egg- Garriers; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and

exactdescription of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had tothe 'annexed drawings, making a part of lthis specilication, and to the l letters and figures ofreerence marked thereon.L

My invention relates to devices for transporting eggs,

and is designed to accompany and be usedY in connection with my egg-carrier, for which Letters Patent of jthe United States were issuedto me, under date of `March 17, 1868, and September 1, 1868 and .width always to correspond to the size of the pocket I desire to manufacture.

After these two strips of Vcloth are adjusted, iu the manner mentioned, I cut out a gore,.as represented,

These gores arecilt while the-two strips of cloth lie smoothly upon the table, or they may be folded over at the proper points, and the gol-es formed by cutting off the corners of the folded fabrics.

After these gores are formed, I fold the strips of cloth in such manner that the lower points of the gores shall touch each other, or, in other words, I place thepoint c of the right-hand gore over the point c of the' next gore to the left, and pass the cloth, thus folded, to the machine for sewing.

The sewing is done on a line commencing at the point h of the gore, and extending diagonally across the cloth, on an angle of about forty degrees with the edge of the same.

When this. process is completed, the pocket has assumed the form shown on iig. 2, and is ready for use.

The method above described secures great economy of labor and materials, and is of great value to parties engaged in theI manufacture of my egg-carriers, pat ented as aforesaid.

What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

A pocket, constructed in the manner herein described and shown, to accompany and be used with devices for transporting eggs.
