DESIGN FOR A. PERSIAN CLOAK.

The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.

To all whom. it may concern,.-

Be it known that I, THoMAs DOLAN, of the city of Philadelphia, in the State of Pennsylvanie, have invented a new and original Design for a Persian Cloak and I do hereby declare the following to be nn exactdescl'iptiou thereof, reference heilig had to the accompanying drawing, which forms n. part of this specioation. To prodin e a Persian cloak shaped according to my design, I take a rectangular piece oi' goods, slit it a short distance lengthwise, as shown at A B, iig. 1, and then plait the part immediately below the slit to i'orm a. pallier, as at O, iig. 2. ,y

The garment is then doubled and cut down the mid die from the top to the slit A B, as shown at D E, iig. 3, and tacked together at the two points F and G, and stitched or basted on the lines F H, G I, so as to present t-he appearance shown in g. 4.

Each of the flaps K L is now formed into half a. hood-piece by folding them over till the edges M N M O coincide with the middle line M 1.

The flaps Q are then turned over or cut off, as shown in iig. 5, and the hood-piece K L is-plaitcd into the form ot' a hood, shown in fig. 6.

What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, s

rlhe design or configuration of a Persian cloak, produced by slitting it lengthwise, plaiting the lower part into a panier, cutting the upper part down the middle, stitching it together to form a hood-piece, and shaping the same into the form of a. hood, as shown and described.
