GEORGE B. DIOKSON, OF SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI, ASSIGNOR OF ONE-FOURTH TO JOHN S. WITTY AND ONE-FOURTH TO THOMAS B. WITTY, BOTH OF GREENE COUNTY, MISSOURI.
EXTENSION-TABLE T 0 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE B. DIoKsoN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Springfield, in the county of Greene and State of Missouri, have invented new and useful Improvements in Extension-Tables, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in extension tables the object of which is to provide a cheap, simple and convenient device for permitting slidably mounting the parts of the table top with relation to each other.
Further objects and advantages of the device will be set forth in the detailed description which now follows.
In the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 is a side elevation of a table constructed in accordance with the invention; and Fig. 2 is an end elevation thereof.
Like letters designate corresponding parts in both of the figures of the drawing.
Referring to the drawing, A designates a table top made in sections, the end sections having legs B connected thereto. Pipes C and D are connected to the legs B at one end of the table, and pipes E and F are connected to the legs at the opposite end of the table, said latter pipes being slidably disposed in the pipes C and D. Set screws G serve to bind the pipes E and F with relation to the pipes C, and D to render the structure a fixed one. A brace H serves to hold the ends of pipes C and D properly po- Specification of Letters Patent.

sitioned, and diagonal braces J connect both the pipes C and D and pipes E and F adjacent the legs of the table, the outer ends of pipes C and E being connected to these braces.
From the foregoing description it will be apparent that when the set screws G are loosened the two end sections of the table may be drawn apart to permit the insertion of additional leaves, not shown, in the usual and Well-known manner.
Having described my invention, What I claim is An extension table comprising a top and supporting members for said top, comprising a pair of legs at each end of the top, couplings carried by said legs at their tops, additional couplings carried by said legs below the first named couplings, telescoping members projecting inwardly from the first named couplings, braces extending from the last named couplings to said telescoping members additional oppositely projecting telescoping members projecting from said braces and means for binding all of said telescoping members against movement with relation to each other.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature, in presence of two subscribing witnesses.
GEORGE B. DICKSON.
