$pecification of Letters Patent.

Application filed September 21, 1906. Serial No. 336,623.

To all whom it may concern:

- Be it known that I, DANIELh/IAGKAY, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Pittsburg, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Gloves, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawings.

With these and other objects in view which will more readily appear as the invention is better understood, the same consists in the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter more fully described, illustrated and specifically pointed out in the appended claims.

Referring to the drawing forming part of this specification, like numerals of reference designate corresponding parts throughout the several views, in which:

Figure 1 is a view of the back of the glove, the wrist clamp thereof being bent to clearly illustrate its construction, Fig. 2 is a view of the front of the glove, Fig. 3 is an end viewof the glove, showing the clamp in its natural position, Fig. 4 is a perspective view of a tip.

I construct my improved glove of flexible material as leather, metallic clips and a resilient Wrist clamp, these elements being arranged to form a glove adapted to protect the fingers of a hand from rough and injurious surfaces with which the fingers may contact.

The flexible material or leather is used to form the back 1 of the glove, the back being substantially rectangular to shield and cover the back of the hand.. The back is provided with a thumb piece 2, and with wrist straps 3. Suitably secured to the back of the glove near the rear edge thereof is a resilient wrist clamp 4, which is loosely secured to the wrist straps 3, as at 5. The

Wrist clamp 4 is employed to maintain the back of the glove upon a hand.

The forward edge of the back of the glove and the thumb piece 2 are provided with metallic clips 6, said clips being suitably secured to the back and the thumb piece. Each clip is detachably connected to finger and thumb tips 8, which are constructed of leather simiar to the back of the glove. Each one of the tips 8 is made of a sufficient length to surround the digitals of a hand, and thoroughly protect the same.

From the novel construction just described, it will be obvious that I have devised a simple glove, the tips of which can be removed when worn or injured. The. leather tips serve to protect the fingers of a hand, while the back of the glove and the wrist clamp thereof simply serve to maintain the tips upon the fingers of a hand.

I do not care to confine myself to the manner of securing the glove upon a hand, or to the size, material or minor details of construction, as such changes as are permissible by the appended claims, may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.

What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

1. A glove consisting of a flexible back having a thumb piece and wrist straps, a re silient wrist clamp secured to said back, and straps, clips carried by said back and thumb piece, and tips detachably secured to said clips, substantially as described.

2. A glove consisting of a back having a thumb piece, a resilient wrist clamp carried by said back, clips carried by said back and thumb piece, tips, and means to detachably secure said tips to said clips, substantially as described.

3. A glove consisting ofa back, clips carried by \ck, tips detachably secured to said clips, an. means carried by said back to hold said glove upon a hand, substantially as described.
