ARTHUR APPEL, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
TOY OR ADVERTISING NOVELTY.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented April 30, 1907.
Application filed April 14,1906. Serial No. 311,6 '75.
To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ARTHUR APPEL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new Toy or Advertising Novelty, of which the following is a specification.
My invention consists of a suitable support, and to which is connected an effigy or object by means of a hinge and to the said effigy is fastened an elastic with ball at tached.
The novelty of my invention consists in the simplicity of construction and operating.
A convenient feature of the toy is that when the effigy is down it will be caused to assume its proper position again by the action of the said elastic.
In the drawings Figure 1 is a front view and elevation of my toy with the effigy mounted in a support with a hollow aperture, and Fig. 2 showing a back view with efligy mounted on top of the support.
Similar letters refer to throughout the two views.
The effigy A is mounted on the support B, both being connected by means of a hinge C. Fastened to the effigy A is an elastic D to the end of which is attached a ball E.
In operation the toy is held with the handle of the supportfB in one hand, and the ball E in the other. The elastic D is then stretched by the ball being drawn back which when released will shoot down the effigy A.
Having thus described my invention what I claim is- In a toy, a hand support, an effigy yieldingly mounted upon and attached thereto, and a projectile resiliently attached to the efligy aforesaid.
similar parts ARTHUR APPEL.

LEO APPEL, J. RUGAN NEFF.
