UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOHN STIPPICK, 0F MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN.
KITE.
Application filed November 17, 1913.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JOHN STIPPIoK, a citizen of the United States, and resident of Milwaukee, in the county of Milwaukee and State of lVisconsin, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Kites; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof.
My invention consists in what is herein particularly set forth with reference to the accompanying drawings and pointed out in the claims of this specification; its object being to provide kites having economical, light, stiff, strong and durable angular frames fashioned to provide eyes at their angles for the attachment thereto of the cords constituting a kite-harness.
Figure l of the drawings represents an elevation of a kite having a frame in accordance with my invention, the covering of the frame being partly broken away and a portion of said frame in section. Fig. 2 of said drawings represents a sectional view of the kite on the plane indicated by line 22 in Fig. 1.
Referring by numerals to the drawings, 3 indicates an angular kite-frame and 4 its covering, the frame being preferably a single piece of suitably bent wire that may have the ends thereof looped one upon the other, as shown at 5, or otherwise suitably fastened together. In the fashioning of the frame the wire is manipulated to provide said frame at its angles with eyes 6 for the attachment thereto of the cords of a kite- Specifieation of Letters Patent.

harness, not shown. The wire aforesaid may be of iron, steel or other suitable material, and the kite-frame made therefrom, as here in specified, is very light, stiff, strong and durable.
The wire is economical and the making of the kite-frame therefrom is a simple and comparatively inexpensive operation.
I claim 1. A kite having a wire frame fashioned at the angles thereof to form eyes for the attachment thereto of the kite-harness.
2. A kite having a single piece wireframe fashioned at the angles thereof to form eyes for the attachment thereto of the kite-harness.
3. A kite-frame consisting of a single piece of wire joined at its ends and fashioned at the angles of said frame to form eyes for the attachment thereto of the kiteharness.
i. A single piece wire kite-frame fashioned at its angles to form eyes for the attachment thereto of the kite-harness and having the ends of the wire looped one upon the other.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand at Milwaukee in the county of Milwaukee and State of Visconsin in the presence of two witnesses.
JOHN STIPPICK.
