citizen oi' the United States, and a resident of.

have invented certain new and useful I-mprovements in Garments, of whlch the following is a specieation.
My object is to make a very simple garment from la plain piece oi material without having to cut andshape the same and which the decorated'loops on the shoulder-straps for the tie-string. Fig. shows how the shoulder-straps are brought to the garment by the tie-string, and Fig. 6 shows the style y of ornamentation on the edge ofthe garment.
` The garment is formed, preferably, of one piece of material 1, which is placed around the body of the wearer and in which are eut semicircular or other armholes 2 along the top edge of t'he material. The upper edge of the garment is preferably decorated by an ornamental edge 3, which is formed with a series of loops 4, through Which 1s threaded a tie-string 7, so that the upper part of the garment, which is preferablyused as a corset waist, presents a pleasing appearance.

made to lit snugly to the wearer. lIbelieve ,I am the first to secure a tie-string to the' shoulder-straps to make the same fit to the wearer.
Having described my invention, what I claim is A body garment, having substantially semicircular armholes or recesses in its upper edge, independent shoulder straps and'y a gathering-string passing through loops in the upper edge of the garmert and loops in said straps, whereby the latter are adjustablysecured to the garment. l
