Description

PATENTED JAN. 15, 190? 0. LBHNERT.
SORAPBR FOR METAL WORKING.
APPLICATION FILED OUT. 15, 1906.
TILE" NORRIS PETERS c sums-m CARL LEHNERT, OF MARXLOH, GERMANY.
SCRAPER FOR METAL-WORKING- Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Jan. 15, 1907.
. Application filed October 15, 1906. Serial No. 338,968.
To (0Z1: whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, CARL LEHNERT, a subject of the German Emperor, and a resident of Marxloh, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Scrapers for Metal-forking, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a scraper for metal-Working, especially for working the inner surface of bearings which is provided with a ring shaped cutting edge.
In the accompanying drawings the new scraper is shown in Figures 1 and 2 in front view and side view, respectively.
The scraper proper, a, which is shaped like aring of which the inner ring plane is narrower than the outer one in order to get a better scraping is supported on a handle I), which is fork-shaped at its supporting end, by means of a pivot c.
This scraper offers the advantage over the hitherto used three-edged scrapers that a much quicker and neater working can be obtained with the same, for, especially when working the inner surfaces of bearings in which usually the lubricating-grooves are made previously to scraping, it very often happens that the metal surface to be worked is damaged by the use of the pointed threeedged scraper.
The ring a may be made of any desired convenient size.
Having fully described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A scraper for metal-working, comprising in combination, the scraper proper a shaped like a ring with narrower lnner ring plane than the outer one, a handle I) fork-shaped at one end, and a pivot c inserted through the fork-shaped end of said handle and through the body of said ring and thus adapted to support the latter on said handle, substantially as described and shown and for the purpose set forth.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
CARL LEHNERT. Witnesses:
ALFRED POHLMEYER, WILLIAM ESSENWEIN.
