The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all whom 'it may douce/rn Beit known that I, WILLIAM EDSON, of Boston, in the county of Suffolk, and lStante of Massachusetts, have invented certain new :ind useful Improvements in Sash- Fests; and I do hereby declare that thefollowing is enfull and exact description thereof, reference being had to the eeoompenying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
The nature of my invention consists in making n window fast by hinging e leaf or plate to a base-piece, and in combining With the same a lever, carrying an incline plane, said incline acting as a Wedge to operate the leaf.
To enable others skilled in the .art to Ineke and use my invention, I will proceed to describe its construction and use.

From inspection of iig. l, it Will be seen that, if the lever E be brought down, the horn H will be thrown forward, and the leaf or plete A be consequently pressed hard against the sash D, thus holding it in position.'
IVhat I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The segment-Wedge F, horn H, and lea-f A, operating in combination with the plate B, substantially as described and for the purpose set forth.
