To all whom, it may concern:

Be it known that I, Enwam) E. llllflNGES, a citizen ol the United States, residing at New Haven, in the county oi New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new and. useful .lfmprovement in Atomizers; and I do hereby declare the :lollowing, when taken in. connection with the accoinpanying drawings and the figures of" reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and. exact descrip tion of" the same, and which said drawings constitute part of this specification, and represent, in-- Figure l, a side view o'l an atomizer constructed in accordance with my invention; Fig. :2, a broken sectional view showing the plug and packing-sleeve with its interlocking flange in vertical section; Fig. 3, a top or plan view of the flanged sleeve detached; Fig. 4, an under side view; Fig. 5, a side View.

This invention relates to an improvement in atomizers, and. particularly to that class which consists of a plug adapted to lit into the neck of a bottle, through which plug the tubes of the atomizer extend. As usually constructed in this class ol atomizers a [lexible rubber band or ring is placed around. the plug to make a tight fit with the mouth of the bottle; but notwithstanding the flexibility of the rubber the plug is liable to be accidentally Withdrawn.

The object of this invention is to provide means for holding the plug in connection with the bottle, prevent leakage around the plug, and avoid the possibility of accidental displacement; and the invention consists in the construction as hereinafter described, and particularly recited in the claims.

The atomizer as herein shown consists of a bottle 2 of any approvedv design, having the usual. neck 3 and rim 4, in. combination with an atomizer-pipe 5, bulb 6, and tube 7, which connects with. the tubes through the usual plug 8. Around the plug is a sleeve 9,

of rubber, the plug prcil erably being threaded, so as to have a close engagement with the sleeve. At the upper end of the sleeve is a flange 0, which turns down over and under the edge of the rim l, so as to closely engage the upper end of the neck of the bottle. This llange not only holds the plug in position, but assists in making a tight joint between the plug and the bottle. The llai'igc being llexible is easily removed and as easily replaced, so that it does not prevent the ready removal. ol the plug for re'lilling the bottle when desired.
