  • the regeneration of a particle separator leads to an increased temperature of the exhaust gas due to the oxidation of the carbon of the particles.
  • the temperature of the reduction catalytic converter therefore also increases. Due to the increased temperature, the storage capacity of the reduction catalytic converter falls, so that when the stored quantity of reducing agent lies above the reduced storage capacity, the difference between the quantity and the storage capacity at the present temperature is discharged, in particular desorbed. That results in an undesired release of reducing agent to the atmosphere.
  • the temperature dependency of the storage capacity is taken into consideration.
