SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 727,243, dated May 5, 1903.

Be it known that I, MARTHA M. WHITE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Campbell, in the county of Santa Clara and State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Knee-Protectors; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to nether garments, and is directed to improvements in knee-protectors designed more particularly for use in connection with overalls.

I claim as my invention 3 A knee-protector for a nether garment consisting of a pocket secured to the garment at the knee portionjthereof said pocket having'an open upper end, a pocket-closing flap secured to the garment at the upper open end of the pocket, means for fastening the fiap in its closing position, and a pad consisting of a cover closed at all sides and containinga filling, said pad adapted for removable insertion in said pocket and to be retained bysaid flap.
