To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, HARRIET G; NORTH- FIELD, a citizen of the United States,-residing in the city of Minneapolis, in thecounty of IIennepin and State of Minnesotafhave invented certain new and useful Improvements in Breech-Cloth Supporters, of whichthe following is a specification.

The present invention relates to means for supporting breech-cloths; and the object is to provide an article ofthis character that will constitute an efficient supporter and will impart an even tension Without regard to the position assumed by the body of the'wearer.

. Another object is to construct the article of a few simple parts so arranged that the joints are reduced to a minimum number and are very strong.

The preferred embodiment of theinvention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein Figure 1 is a view showing the supporter when in place upon an infant. Fig. 2 is a plan view, on an enlarged scale, of the supporter. Fig. 3 is a detailsectional view taken on the line :1; a; of Fig. 2. Fig. 4 is a detail sectional view taken on the line y y of Fig. 2, and Fig. 5 is a detail sectional view taken on the line 2 z of Fig. 2.

In the embodiment illustrated a pair of suspender members 10 is employed,compris-' ing spaced substantially inelastic shoulderstraps 11, that are slightly bowed, as shown in Fig. 2. Convergently-disposed elastic terminal bands 12 are secured to the ends of the shoulder-straps, the bands at each end being preferably in the form of.a single loop, the ends of which are fastened to the ends ofthe. shoulder-straps. formed of inelastic materiaL'eXtend across the space between the two Suspender members and are attached to the same at the joints of the shoulder-straps and. elastic bands, thus bringing the points of attachment of the braces, straps, and bands together, reducing the number of joints to a minimum, and greatly strengthening them. The manner of using the device will be apparent by reference to Fig. 1, and it will be seenthat no matter what position the body of the wearer 7 may assume an even tension will be afforded. The article can be manufactured atextremely-small'cost, and as the joints are reduced to a minimum the liability of disagreeable friction or chafing is correspondingly reduced. At the same time the joints are very strong, so that the parts are not liable to pull, apart. In this structure there is no need for adjustment, as the terminalpins can be adjustably attached to the cloth, and the one in front is employed for securing the ends of the same together.

From the foregoing it is thought that the construction, operation, and many advantages of the herein-described invention will be apparent to those skilled in the art without further description, and it will be understood that various changes in the size, shape, proportion,.andmi'nordetails of construction may be ;resorted to without departing from the spirit or sacrificing any of the advantages of the invention.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim'as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

1. Inasupporter of the character described, a pair of Suspender members comprising spaced'substantiallyinelasticshoulder-straps, and convergentlydisposed elastic terminal bands secured to the ends of the shoulderstraps, in combination with fastening devices secured to the convergent ends of the terminal bands, and braces extending across the space between the members and secured thereto at the joints of the straps and bands, thereby strengthening said joints.
