A A represent two panels of a fence, constructed of horizontal slats a, connected by vertical batten's b,
the latter being nailed or otherwise secured to the slatsat both sides ot the same. '.lhe end battens of the panels project beyond the ends ofthe slats, so that the panels inay be lapped together and connected by pins, o, passing through them, the panels being in line with eachother, so as to `i'ornn a straight fence.A To each side of each panel A there are attached blocks, B B. These blocks are attached to the panels in pairs, the-block B ot' each pair extending out further from the panels thanuthe other ones, B', and having strips, C, attached to lth-em by nails or otherwise. To each strip C, ba's Dare` attached by pins d, or otherwise, an'd .these bars D serve as bases to support the panels, the bars or bases resting upon the ground and forming a rm support for the fence, and fully obviating the necessity of placing the panels in a zigzag position in order that it may he securely retained in place. v' f I Having thus described our invention, we claimas' new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The obliquely-projecting bars or bases D, attached to the panels A. A, substantially in the manner as and for the purpose set forth.
