LA P R O B E SPEGIFIGATION forming part of Letters Patent N 0. 666,034, dated January 15, 1901.

Be it known that I, MORRIS SOLOMON, a subject of the Czar of Russia, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have in vented certain newand useful Improvements in Oarriage-Robes,of which the followingisa full and complete specification, such as will enable those skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to carriage-robes; and the object thereof is to provide an improved device of this class which is particularly designed for the use of children in childrens carriages and sleighs, but which may also be used by ladiesin sleighs and carriages, it desired.
The invention is fully disclosed in the following specification, of which the accompanying drawings form a part, in which- Figure l is a perspective view of my improved robe, and Fig. 2 a section on the line 2 2 of Fig. 1.
In the drawings forming part of this specir fication the separate parts of my improvement tics of my invention I provide a robe for the purpose described which consists of a back portion A, which may be ofany desired length, and connected therewith or formed integrally therewith at the footend thereof is a covering-flap B. The back portion and flap are preferably connected at the opposite sides from the foot end thereof at 0 up to a predetermined point, as D, above which the covering-flap is-widen'ed, as shown at E, and secured to the head end of the back portion A and to the central portion of said head end is a hood F, said hood being connected with the central portion of the back A between the points G, as-shown in Fig. 1, by means of buttons or similar devices H, which are connected with the back A and passed through suitable holes in the back K of the hood F, as shown in Fig. 2. The side portions of the hood F are projected forwardly, as shown at L, and secured to the inner sides of said side .or may not be employed.

The back A, flap B, and the hood F may be composed of any suitable textile material, and in practice the upper side of the flap B and the outer or back surface or side of the hood F are preferably covered with fur, which is not shown in the drawings for the reason that it forms no part of this invention and may The entire robe, including the hood F, may, however, be made of any desired material, and theback portion A is made long enough to extend from the feet to the neck of the person for whom it is intended, and in the use of the robe the feet and lowerlimbs are inserted into the sack formed by the back A and the flap B, and said flap is long enough to comeup to or practically to the neck of the party using the robe, and the hood is then tied by means of the straps M.
Having fully described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- 1. A robe, comprising a back portion and flap connected at the foot end thereof, said back portion being provided at the head end with a hood which is secured thereto, substantially as shown and described.
2. A robe of the class described, comprising a back portion and a flap secured to said back portion at the foot end and extending upwardly over the greater length of the back portion, said back portion being also provided with a hood which is secured to the central portion of the head end thereof, and which is provided with side straps, substantially as shown and described.
