T0 @ZZ whom, t may concern: p
Be it known that I, CHARLES T. KAFFEN- BERGER, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city of Yonkers, county of Westchester, and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Lap- Robes, of which the following is a specifica tion.
My invention relates to laprobes, and more particularly to lap-robes for childrens carrages.
I will describe a lap-robe and a modification thereof embodying my invention and then point out the novel features thereof in a claim.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a rear view of a lap-robe embodying my invention. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section thereof. Fig. 3 is a rear View of a modified form of lap-robe embodying my invention. Fig. 4 is a vertical section of the saine. l
Similar letters of reference designate corresponding parts in all of the views.
A represents a suitable body portion of cloth or other similar material, and A a wool or other facing Which may be secured to the body.
B represents a pocket at one end of the body portion, which is formed by turning an i end of the body portion back on itself and stitching the edges of the bent portion to the longitudinal edges h of the body portion.
Referring now to Fig.' l, the body portion A is of such a length as to cover the back of a seat. The part c of the body portion is for that purpose, and the part c is designed to The application of the lap-robe is as foli lows: It is placed upon the seat and back of a carriage with the faced side uppermost. The devices care unfastened, so as to permit of the feet of a person being inserted in the pocket B and Vto bring the part c. over the lap. The devices may then be fastened. In the form shown inFig. 3 the feet are placed in the pocket B and `the part ct' drawn over the lap. A ribbon D is attached to the body A for holding the lap-robe in place.
The lap-robe is designed for use in connection with childrens carriages and go-carts.
