This invention has for its object the production, ofa simple and inexpensive device that may be readily attached toa sash-cord and whose pr'ojecting end portion is shaped to engage the sash without the aid of screws To explain my invention, l have providedthe anexeddrawings, in'whichI- 'A y Figures 1 and2 are respectively side and edge views of'a portion of a window-sash having the sash-cord secured thereto by my newly-invented device,l Fig '3 shows face and edge views `of my said'device detached,

I prefer to make my said device of sheet metal ci' the general form shown in Figs. v1, 2', and 3, the body portion being adapted to be bent to fold around the cord, as seen in Figs. 2 and 4, andI also preferably'provide in the said body portion oneor more spurs c2, that may enter the cord, as seen in Fig. 4, and thus help to prevent the withdrawal of the cord from the embraceV of said body portion. I have shown the edges of said body portion as provided with teeth c3, that are odset from each other, (see Fig. 2,.) so that when the 5o body isiold'ed` upon the cord they may intercircumferential walls of the recess af ,and thus serai No. 627.571. cro man loeli'with each other and th us em brace a much smaller cord than if the edges were plain.

The head portion of my device is substantially flat, its outline being somewhat circular or crescent-shaped and of about the same diameter as that of the recess a in the sash.

- Spurs c4 are provided in that part of the head When it is desired to use my described device, it is only necessary to lay the end of the cord in the partly-folded body portion c and close said body portion tightly around the cord, when the head portion of the device may be entered in the .recess ct' and its spurs crowded slightly into the wood. l.

My described sash-cord-fastening device does away with the necessity of tying the knot in the end of the cord, as very com# monly practiced, and embodies in a single simple piece all the desirable features of 'cer.

' Having thus described my invention, I claim as'new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- A A sash-cord fastener formed from a single piece of material and comprising a body, a neck, and a head,`the body having its edges provided with teeth adapted .to be folded aroundthecord and secured thereto, the neck being oiset laterally, and. the head being formed substantially crescentshaped, the ends of which form' spurs substantially parallel with the body and a lapted to` be drawn into the sash by the pull upon the cord',`sub stantially as set forth. l. y
