0. E. HENDERSON. GARMENT SUPPORTBR.
No. 565,270. Patented Aug. 4, 1896.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
OORA E. HENDERSON, OF SIOUX CITY, IOWVA.
GARM ENT-SU PPORTER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 565,270, dated August 4, 1896.
Application filed May 19, 1896. Serial No. 592,180. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CORA E. HENDERSON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Sioux City, in the county of WVoodbury and State of Iowa, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Garment-Supporters, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawings.
The object of my invention is to supply a convenient means for supporting a garment from a belt, and I attain my object by the mechanical means hereinafter described and claimed.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a plan View of my device, and Fig. 2 is an end View in section through the line X X in Fig. 1.
Like characters of reference indicate the same parts in the views.
The supporter A may be constructed of leather or other suitable material in two parts 4 and 5, which may be sewed or otherwise fastened together, and to give the supporter stability there may be inserted between the parts 4 and 5 a metallic strip 6, preferably running along the upper edge of the supporter.
The supporter is supplied with eyelets 7 for the reception of hooks 8, to which the supported garment may be fastened.
The loops 9 are attached to the upper edge of the supporter by the rivet 12 for the'reception of the belt. The loops 9 may be made rigid to a desired degree by the insertion of metallic strips, or strips of like material, between the outer part 10 and the inner part 11, preferably used in the construction of the loops, the parts being sewed or otherwise fastened together.
Having described my invention, I claim In a garment-supporter the combination of the supporter A with loops for the reception of the belt attached at the upper edge of the belt, eyelets for the reception of hooks, hooks for attachment to the belt and an intermediate strip extending along the upper edge of the support, as and for the purposes set forth.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
OORA E. HENDERSON. WVitnesses:
LUELLA G. HATTENBAOH, WALTER A. W001).
