TASSEL-HOOK.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 52,857, dated February 27, 1866,

To all whom t may concern:

Be it known that I, ALBERT D. JUDD, of New Haven, in the State of Connecticut, have invented, made, and applied to use an Innproved Tassel-Hook 5 and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the said invention, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making part of this specilication, wherein- Figure l is an elevation ot' the said tasselhook, and Fig. 2 is a vertical section of the same.

Similar marks of reference denote the same parts.

The nature ot' my said invention consists in an ornamental tassel hook for upholstery, formed of a brass or other metal arm extending out from a raised plate, at the end of which arm is a porcelain knob, ornamented on its surface by a washer or metallic ornament held in place by the end of the arm itself, Which passes through the porcelain knob and Washer and is riveted up.

By this mode of construction an ornament cau be affixed directly upon the surface of the porcelain, relieving its plain appearance and increasing its beauty, Whereas in other characters of tassel-hooks no metal ornament could be affixed on the porcelain surface, neither was said porcelain knob as securely fastened by the attachment to the back as by the arm going through said knob, as shown.

The tassel-hook having the ornamental niel tallic washer secured to the surface of the porcelain knob by the end of the metallic arm, as a new article of manufacture.
