No. 481,161. Patented Aug. 23, 1892.
Maes Ike mall" NITED STATES PATENT FFICEQ ISAAC T. BROWN, OF COLUMBUS, INDIANA.
NAPKlN-HOLDER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent N0. 481,161, dated August 23, 1892.
Application filed July 20, 1891. Serial No. 400,187. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ISAAC T. BROWN,acitizen of the United States, residing at Columbus, in the county of Bartholomew and State of Indiana, have invented a new and useful Napkin-Holder, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to an improved napkin-holder.
The object of my improvement is to provide a cheap and simple device for attaching a napkin to the vest or coat front.
The accompanying drawings illustrate my invention.
Figure 1 is a View in perspective of my improved napkin-holder. Fig. 2 is a view in perspective showing the holder applied to a napkin.
The holder consists of a straight bar A, bent at each end at right angles to the bar, then doubled upon itself in the same plane, so as to form a pairof short handles B B, and then bent in planes at right angles to the handles B to form a pair of pointed hooks O O.
In operation thehooks C are passed through the edge of the napkin D, as illustrated in Fig. 2, thus bringing the bar A below the edge of the napkin and holding it smoothly extended. In applying the holder and napkin to the vest-front the handles B are seized between the thumb and forefinger of each hand, the hooks 0 being turned toward the body and then inserted in the Vest-front.
I claim as my invention The above-described napkin-holder, consisting of the straight bar A, bent downward at each end at right angles, then doubled upon itself in parallel planes, so as to form the pair of short handles-B B, and then bent in planes at right angles to the handles to form a pair of pointed hooks G 0, all as shown and described.
ISAAC '1. BROWN.
