No. 475,429. Patented May 24, 1892.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JENNIE E. ZEISER, OF SOHENECTADY, NEW YORK.
SCRUBBlNG-PAIL.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 475,429, dated May 24, 1892.
Application filed July '7, 1891- Serial No. 398,714. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Beit known that I, J ENNIE E. ZEISER, a citizen of the United States, residing in Schenectady, in the'county of Schenectady and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Scrubbing-Pails, of which the following is a specification.
In many household operations, as in washin g windows, fioors, &c., it is desirable to have two bodies of water, requiring, usually, two receptacles, so that one may be used for rinsing out cloths, cleaning brushes, 850., while the other is maintained in a comparatively clean 7 View.
The body A of the bucket is constructed in any usual or suitable manner and is provided with a vertical partition B, which serves to di vide the body into two independent receptacles 1 2, one of which may be used for the clear water and the other for the dirty water, and a soap-cup is formed in the latter chamher by extending a narrow strip 4 from one side of the partition toward the side of the suspended by the bail the latter will be in a position above the partition and not interfere with the introduction of cloths or brushes into the receptacles. Further, an important advantage in this connection is that the partition serves to resist the strains tending to bring the sides of the bucket together when the bucket is suspended, so that the body does not flatten under the weight of the contents, its shape is preserved, and the durability increased. By arranging the soap-cup so as to extend between the partition and the side of the bucket both the partition and the bucket are braced, so as to increase the strength and durability of the article.
I claim as my invention 'Ihewithin-described improved bucket, having a body A and a vertical partition connected at its edges with the sides of the body, and a bail connected with ears arranged opposite the edges of the partition, substantially as set forth.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
