IMPROVEMENT IN BRUSHES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 139,474, dated June 3, 183; application led May 5, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES VV. PALMER, of Cleveland, in the county of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented a new and. useful Brush for Hats, Clothes, and Shoes, with a mirror combined, of which the following is a. specication:
. This invention relates to a brush, composed of tine plush on one side and Brussels carpet on the other side, also having a small mirror on one side at the end. The plush side is adapted for brushing silk-hats, velvets, and similar fabrics. The carpet side is adapted for brushing coarser fabrics of clothing and shoes. This brush isintended as aconvenient article to be carried in the pocket by travelers. tourists, &c., for use on cars, stations, or other places where toilet conveniences cannot be had.
In the accompanying drawing, Figure l is an edge view; Fig. 2 is the carpet side, and Fig. 3 is the plush side of myimproved brush.

being stiffer, is very convenient for removing mud or dust from the bottoms of pa-utsand from shoes. The glass is also a very desirable and convenient article in case one getsu dirt or specks of ciuder in the eyes While traveling. The brush `is easily kept clean by striking it brisklyagainst any hard substance,
which loosens the dirt in the brush, and it falls out.
I claim- The strip A, plush B, carpet C, mirror D, and wire-bands E E, all combined and arranged as described, and for the purpose .set
forth.
