To all whom it may concern.- t
Be it known that I, LUCINIUs HAvAsY, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented anew and Improved Brush for Silk, Velvet, Fur, and like Materials, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
The object of my invention is to provide a new and improved brush for brushing silk, velvet, fur, and similar material without injuring the same.
The inventionconsists in a brush provided on one side with short-haired sti or bristlelike fur and on the opposite side with soft and line fur,thebristlelike fur being used to brush the dust from the silk or velvet and the soft fur being used to smooth and tinish the brushed silk or velvet.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawing, forming part ot' this specification, in which my improved brush is shown in perspective.
A piece, A, of line soft furis attached-t0 the back of a piece of clipped fur, C, which has VShort and still' bristles, so that this fur C can be used as a brush to remove the dust, andthe fur Acan then, in this case, also be used to smooth and finish the silk, &c.' If desired,the stift' fur G. may be attached to one side of a dat board or plate and the soft fur A to the opposite side, whereby a pocket-brush will be formed, which can be used for brushing dii'erent-kinds of fabric, and which can be carried very conveniently, as it occupies but very little spare. y
Having thus fully described my invention, Iclaim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- As an improved article of manufacture, a brush having bristle-like fur on one' side and line soft fur on the other, the two being secured back to back, with or without a plate between theni,sub'stantiallyas herein shown and described.
