GEORGE C. BENTZINGER, OF ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI.
DESlGN FOR A BRUSH.
SPECIFICATION forming' part 0f Design N0. 30,616, dated April 25, 1899.
Application filed March 1B, 1899. Serial No. 709,381. Term nl' patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be itknown that I, GEORGE C. BENTZIXGER, a citizen of the United States, residing at St. Louis, State of Missouri, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Brushes, of which the following is a. specifcation, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof.
The figure is a perspective view of a brush, showing my new design.
The leading feature of my design' consists in a body portion having longitudinal flat walls and outwardly-curved end walls, the top of the said body portion being fiat and depressed below the upper edges of said walls, a loop extending vertically or on a line with the upper edge of one of the longitudinal walls and rivetheads projecting from the outer surface of the longitudinal wall adjacent to the lower edge of the body portion.
Referring to the drawing, 1 represents the body portion of the brush, which is adapted to be grasped by the hand, the saine consisting of fiat longitudinal side walls 2 and outwardly-curved end walls 3. The top of the body portion 1 is flat and is depressed below the upper edges of the walls 2 and 3, as shown at 5, the depression being substantially the same shape as the said body portion. tending from one of the upper edges of the side walls 2 is a loop 6, which is substantially on a plane with the said wall, the shape of which corresponds to the shape of the top wall 5 of thebody portion. Projecting from one of the flat walls 2, adjacent to the lower edge thereof, are rivet-heads 7. The bristles of the brush S extend below the body portion and form a permanent part thereof.
A brush designed as above described can be used for thoroughly cleaning the inside of any design of cooking utensil, its shape being of such a nature that it can be readily turned within the utensil in order that the brush proper can be applied to all parts.
