ANTONIA RASKY, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
BRUSH.
Application filed September 19, 1913.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, ANToNIA RiisKY, a subject of the King of Hungary, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Brushes, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad therein to the accompanying drawing.
This invention relates to brushes, and more particularly to a brush that can be advantageously used for washing dishes, utensils, sinks and other structures.
The object of my invention is to provide a metallic brush or bristle holder of such construction that one end of the holder presents a handle, the opposite end a scraper, and the intermediate portion a bristle holder. The bristle holder is shaped where by it can be easily placed in a utensil or in the corner of a sink for removing foreign matter that may adhere to the same. Provision is made' whereby water and detergents can readily circulate throughout the bristles of the brush and drain from the same after the brush has been used.
I attain the above object by a mechanical construction that will be hereinafter specifically described and then claimed, and reference will now be had to the drawing, wherein Figure 1 is a longitudinal sectional view of the brush, and Fig, 2 is a plan of the same.
A brush in accordance with this invention comprises a metallic polygonal-shaped body 1 having side flanges 2. The body 1 and the flanges 2 have equally spaced perforations or openings 3, and mounted in some of said openings are bristles 4, while the other of said openings, which are preferably Specification of Letters Patent.

as drain openings for liquid matter that may accumulate upon the holder. The inner end of the holder terminates in a handle 5, and the outer end thereof is provided with a curved scraper 6. The scraper 6 also has bristles 7 and at the sides of said scraper are flanges 8 supporting bristles similar to the bristles 7. The flanges 8 cooperate with the fianges 2 in forming side walls and the shape of the scraper permits of the brush being readily used in a utensil or the corner of a sink that could not be easily reached by an ordinary brush.
A brush in accordance with this invention is made of non-corrodible metal and has been especially designed for washing dishes and facilitating kitchen work.
One embodiment of the invention has been illustrated, but it is to be understood that the structural elements are susceptible to such variations and modifications as fall within the scope of the appended claim.
What I claim is A brush made of a single piece of metal shaped and bent to provide a polygonalshaped body having perforations, some of which serve as drain openings, and others accommodate bristles supported by said body, a handle carried by the inner end of the body of said brush, a curved scraper carried by the outer end thereof and having apertures accommodating bristles, and flanges carried by said scraper and provided with bristles and cooperating with the flanges of said body in providing side walls.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
