The present invention is an improvement in and relating to a magneto, and more particularly to the circuit breaker apparatus for the ignition.
Heretofore, in magnetos incorporating, in the casing of the magneto, a circuit breaker apparatus, which comprises at least one cam wheel and one circuit breaker lever, it has been impossible to withdraw the circuitbreaker as a whole body from the casing for controlling the timing contacts, so that it has been extremely diflcult to adjust the parts relative to one another for obtaining a mechanically perfect workmg.
With a view of overcoming `these diillculties the present invention proposes to` mount all parts belonging to the circuit breaker apparatus upon a common support which is fitted into the casing of the magneto on the side of the cover plate, so that the whole circuit breaker apparatus, including the cam Wheel, can be withd-rawn together with said support from the casing.
The accompanying drawing illustrates one embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section of that part of the magneto which comprises the circuit breaker.
Fig. 2 shows a frontal view from the right side in Fig. llof the circuit breaker apparatus, when withdrawn from the casing.
Reference character I denotes the casing of the magneto, Ia a pot-like casing insertion and 3 the hollow rotor shaft of the magneto, which extends through the intermediary wall I of the casing into the casing insertion Ia. Between the wall I and the pot bottom of the casing insertion Ia there is disposed the distributor disc 4 with a conductor piece 5 traversing the same and cooperating with the electrodes 6 and l. The distributor disc 4 is detachably secured to a coupling sleeve B which is removably mounted on the rotor shaft 3. The casing I has (in Fig. 1 on the left side) a cover plate consisting of two parts, i. e. a peripheral part 9 and a central part I0. Upon the inner side of the cover part I there is xed by means of screws II a disc I2 which is the support for all the parts belonging to the circuit breaker apparatus. The disc I2 has `a central hollow nave I3 which projects inwardly and carries a bush I 4. This b'ush I4 supports by means of roller bearings I a rotatable sleeve I6 forming a double cam wheel. The ring I1 upon the end of the nave I3 is to prevent bush I4 and cam sleeve I6 from slipping off the nave. C'am sleeve IB and coupling sleeve 8 engage each other by means of claws, so that upon rotation of shaft 3 and sleeve 8 the cam sleeve I6 is driven. 'Ihe disc I 2 has inside in diametrically opposite places two brackets I8 which carry each a pin I9 and a circuit breaker lever 20. On two other diametrically opposite places of the disc I2 are mounted two coil condensers which, in known manner, are in parallel connection with the circuit breaker contacts. In order to adjust the cam sleeve I6 in relation to the circuit breaker levers and to adjust said levers in relation to the stationary contact 22 xed to the disc I2, the cover part Il) together with the disc I2 and the whole circuit breaker apparatus can be withdrawn from the casing after the screws II have been unscrewed. This adjusting and controlling work can be done in a suitable place and position, for instance upon a table.
In Fig 1, on the left side, it is indicated in dotted lines, that a rod 23 which is slidably disposed in the hollow shaft 3 may extend through the cover part I 0 for being engaged by a lever (not shown) whereby, for instance, the timing of the ignition may bey adjusted.
What I claim is:
1. In combination with a magneto having a casing, a cover plate arranged on one side of said casing, a coupling sleeve tted on the rotor shaft of the magneto, a distributor disc rigidly carried by said coupling sleeve, a support disc detachably tted into said casing on the side of said cover plate, said support disc having a nave projecting inwardly towards said coupling sleeve, a bush upon said nave, a rotatable cam wheel arranged on said bush and being engageable by said coupling sleeve for rotation, and at least one circuit breaker lever pivotally mounted on said support disc, the whole circuit breaker apparatus being adapted to be withdrawn together with said support disc from said casing.

Ir combination with a magneto having a casing, a cover plate arranged on one side of said casing, a coupling sleeve fitted on the rotor shaft of the magneto, a distributor disc rigidly carried by said coupling sleeve, a support disc detachably ilxed to the inner side of said cover plate, said support disc having a nave projecting inwardly towards said coupling sleeve, a bush upon said nave, a rotatable -cam wheel arranged on said bush and being engageable by said coupling sleeve for rotation, and at least one circuit breaker lever pivotally mounted on said support disc, the whole circuit breaker apparatus being adapted to be Withdrawn together with said cover plate from said casing.
3. In combination with a magneto having a, casing, a cover plate arranged on one side of sai-d casing and consisting of a central part and a peripheral part, being detachable from each other, a coupling sleeve on the rotor shaft of the magneto and rigidly carrying a distributor disc, a support disc detachably fixed to the inner side of said central part of the cover plate, said support disc having a nave projecting inwardly towards said coupling sleeve, a bush upon said nave, a rotatable cam wheel arranged on said bush and being engageable by said coupling sleeve for rotation, and at least one circuit breaker lever pivotally mounted on said support disc, the whole circuit breaker apparatus being adapted to be Withdrawn together with said central cover part from said casing.
