NITE STATES NELSON PARKER, OF LITTLETON, NEW HAMPSHIRE, ASSIGNOR OF ONE- HALF OF HIS RIGHT TO CHARLES PARKER, OF SAME PLAGE.
GLOVE.
SPECIFICATION forming` part of Letters Patent No. 235,009, dated November 30, 1880 To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, NELSON PARKER, of Littleton, county of Grafton, State ot' New Hampshire, have invented a new and useful Iinprovementin Gloves; and I hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, making part of this specilication, in which the tgure shows a glove with my improvement attached.
My invention relates to button-top gloves 5 and it consists in attaching to the back of the glove a re-enforce or wrist-piece, which shall.
cover all the seams of the. glove, but not eX- tend to the button or button-hole portion.
lo enable others skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I will proceed to describe the exact manner in which I have carried i-t out.
In gloves heretofore made with a Wristband the wrist-piece has been made to extend entirely around the glove and cover both the button-piece and the button-hole, thus presen ting a double thickness of material through which the button has to pass.
The object of my invention is to overcome this difficulty, and at the same time secure a (No model.)
better n'nish to the glove With a great saving of stock, labor, and expense.
In the drawings, A represents a glove, and B my improved wrist-piece, extending across all the seams ot the glove, but notL extending over the part where the button is attached or where the button-hole is made. This gives a better finish to the glove and wrist and to the general appearance ofthe glove, and presents but a single thickness of the material through which the button has to pass in buttoning the glove upon the hand.
I am aware that wristbands upon gloves are not new, nor do l claim such broadly; but
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
In combination with the glove A, the wristband or re-enforce B, secured to the glove along all its edges, and of length less than the width of the glove, whereby the point for securing the button and the button-hole are left of a single thickness of material, as herein set forth.
NELSON PARKER.
