Description

May 14,1935. I w. H. DOLLINGER WINDOW SHADE FIXTURE Filed Aug. 6, 1954 WZ YZZQZWZEDOZZJIQQQZ'MENTOR I Patented May 14, 1935 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE wiNDow SHADE FIXTURE William H. Dollinger, Franklin, Ohio Application August 6, 1934, Serial No. 738,705
2 Claims. (Cl. 15624) This invention relates to shade fixtures of the character set forth in my copending application filed May 2, 1934, and Serial No. 723,583 and has for the primary object, the provision of an improved form of fixture which will support both a shade and a shield for said shade and provide for the connection of rods thereto designed for carrying draperies, valances and curtains.
With these and other objects in view this invention consists in certain novel'features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.
For a complete understanding of my invention, reference is to be had to the following description and accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 is a fragmentary vertical sectional view illustrating a window shade fixture constructed in accordancewith my invention.
Figure 2 is an end elevation illustrating the same.
Figure 3 is a plan view illustrating the blank from which the fixture is made. v
Figure 4 is a fragmentary perspective view illustrating the shield.
Referring in detail to the drawing, the numeral 1 indicates an attaching plate apertured to receive fasteners 2 for securing said plate to a window frame. Formed integral with one edge of the plate is an extension 3 and also integral with opposite edges of the plate are ears 4 and the latter extend at right angles to the plate I to provide mediums for connecting poles to the plate employed for supporting curtains, draperies and the like. The plate I, extension 3 and ears 5 4 are formed from a blank, as shown in Figure 3. The extension 3 is bent or offset to form a cup-shaped portion 5 having formed therein a slot 6 to receive the pintle I of a shade 8. One wall of the cup-shaped portion 5 is offset in- 10 wardly to form a recess or seat 9 to engage with a lug or tongue I0 formed on a semi-cylindrical shaped shield l l and the latter overlies the shade 8 in spaced relation, thereto by being supported by the cup-shaped portion 5.
Having described the invention, I claim:
1. A shade fixture comprising an attaching plate, an extension integral with said plate and offset to form a cup-shaped portion slotted to receive a pintle of a shade, and means for sup- 20 porting a shield to the cup-shaped portion over the shade. a
2. A shade fixture comprising an attaching plate, an extension integral withsaid plate and offset to form a cup-shaped portion slotted to receive a pintle of a shade, said cup-shaped portion having an offset portion to form a seat, a shield engaging the cup-shaped portion, and a lug formed on the shield and fitting in the. seat.
