[A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, April 19, 1937.] [Class 36] [Also in Group XXV] In a clip for fastening pipes, electric conductors, and the like to a supporting-surface, of the kind comprising a band of resilient material which encloses or partly encloses the pipe or conductor and has its two ends bent to form extending arms which are adapted to be inserted in a hole in the supporting-surface and tend to spring apart therein, the ends of the arms f, f<1>, Fig. 1, are provided with small outwardly extending projections which engage behind the rear edge of the hole and are so shaped, and situated at such distance apart, that the clip e can be attached and detached respectively by a simple pushing and pulling action. The outward extensions may have inwardly directed prolongations which facilitate the introduction of the clip into the hole. The yoke of the clip may be extended to embrace two or more conductors or, as shown in Fig. 23, the clip K may be bent into a double loop L, L<1>, to fasten two adjacent conductors. Fig. 20 shows a clip wherein the band portion E is made extensible by means of angular cut-out portions C. The resiliency of the arms may be increased by inserting between their open ends a helical spring, leaf-spring, or a piece of rubber. To enable the clips to be fastened within blind holes, the bottom of the hole may be widened by means of a special tool in order to engage the outwardly extending ends of the clip, or a bush may be either driven or screwed into the hole so that its bottom edge can engage the ends of the clip. For the attachment of a clip to a stone or brick wall a hollow plug T, Fig. 30, with an inturned edge at its open end is driven into the wall. A clip may be adapted to receive pipes or cables of different sizes by the provision of removable insulating liners or bushes which are in the form of two half-rings disposed between the conductor and the band of the clip.
