- Apparatus for the production of artificial filaments comprising a collecting device adapted to collect the filaments continuously with their production, a rotating member round which the filaments are caused to pass on their way to the collecting device, the diameter of said member varyin along its length, and means for causing t e filaments to be e aged by successive parts having difierent iameters along the length of the said member, whereby a systematic variation in denier is imparted to the filaments.
