IMPROVEMENT IN WORK-BOXES.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 188,518, dated March 20, 1877; ap lication filed February 6, 1877. 1

To all whom "it may concern Be it known that I, WILLIAM HUNTRESS, of Lowell, of the countyof M iddlesex and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Work-Boxes; and do hereby declare the same to be described in the following specification and represented in the accompanying drawings, of which- Figure l is a longitudinal section, and Fig. 2 a transverse section, of a work-box embodying. my invention. Fig. 3 is a top view, and Fig. 4 an under-side view, of its movable bottom. Y

.My invention consists, first, in the work-box body, in combination with a movable bottom and a series of arms applied thereto, as described; second, in the combination ofa boxfoot with each of the arms, so as to be in one piece and movable with it; third, in the workbox provided with two separate chambers,

' and with the movable bottom and a series of spool-supporters erected on the latter; fourth, in the movable bottom, a series of arms, and a series of latching-springs applied to the said bottom, all being substantially as hereinafter explained. v

The body A of the box has, besides its cover B, two separate chambers, O D, arranged as shown. bottom, E, to the lower of the said chambers, such bottom being held in place by two turnbuttons, a a, applied to the body.

The said bottom has aseries of spool carriers, b b b b, erected on it, and, besides, it has compartments or recesses d c f, for holding the clamp G, and the pins or studs 9 of a series of arms, F F F F, formed and arranged with and pivoted to the said bottom, as shown.

I claim- 1. The work-box body A, in combination with the movable bottom E, and the series of arms F applied thereto, as and for the purpose specified.

2. The box-foot H and the arm F, arranged and combined as set forth.

3. The work box provided with the two chambers G D and the movable bottom E, furnished with the series of spool-supporters b.

4. The movable bottom E, the series of arms F, and latching-springs k, arranged and combined as set forth.
