The present invention relates to vanity cases and the primary object of the invention is to provide a novel and improved device of I this character embodying a novel arrangement for the carrying of an extra supply of cosmetics such as lip sticks, vials'of perfume, eyebrow pencils and similar cylindrical toilet articles. i

A further object of the invention is to provide an improved toilet article embodying a main body portion providing a container for powder, rouge and the like, and having along two of its sides, tubular containers for cylindrical cosmetics, the tubular containers being arrangedto provide finger gripping portions when use is being made of the cosmetics in the main body portion. 1 I

A further object of the invention is to provide a vanity case embodying a main body portion having separate compartments closed by independently movable lids, and having tubular containers exteriorly of the compartments, one serving as a supply container for cosmetics for use in the other tubular container. i 1 I Other objects and advantages of the invention will be apparent from the following detailed description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification and in which drawings:

Referring to the drawings in detail and 'wherein similar reference characters designate corresponding parts thruout the several views, the improved vanity case comprises a main container A, a minor container B, and a supply or reserve container C.

The main container A forming the main body portion of the vanity case may be formed of any suitable material and ornamented in any preferred manner. 12 and 13 are of a length substantially equal to one-half the length of the container A and have their inner or free edges overlying the partition wall 8 when the lides are in a closed position over the compartments. Mounted upon opposite sidesof the partition wail 8, midway the ends thereof, are upstanding spring latches 15 for yieldably engaging the inner edges of the

12 and 18 to retain the lids in a closed position. The inner edges of the lids are notched as at 16 to receive the latches 15 and these notchesasidefrom permitting independent springing of the latches for selective open ng of the lids 12 and13, also coact with the side edges of the latches to prevent lateral shifting of the lids when closed andthus; relieve strain uponthe hinges 14. 12 and 13 is a mirror 18, andthisprovision of a mirror for each of the lids permits ready use of one of the mirrors regardless of which one of the lids is swung open.

The minor container B for positioning along one side of the main container A serves as a container for holdinga lip stick, eyebrow pencil or other cylindrically formed toilet article for ready use. This container B comprises a tubular body portion 20 having a length considerably less than the length of the main container A and which is secured to one of the side walls 7 as by a suitable bracket. 21 preferably arranged midway the endsof the wall. The bracket 21 is provided. with a split sleeve portion for receiving the tubular body portion 20 of the container B and the tubular body portion may either be fixedly secured as by soldering or the like to the sleeve portion or the tubular body portionv i a closure plug 22, while removably closing the opposite end of the body portion is a closure cap 23 to which is suitably attached a tubular holder 24 adapted to renewably contain a cylindrically shaped cosmetic such as a lip stick or eyebrow pencil. Thus the cap 23 aside from closing one end of the tubular body portion 20 also serves as a finger grip when using the cosmetic contained in the holder 24. The holder 24: is provided with suitable feed means 25 whereby the cosmetic may be ejected for use .as required.

The container C for positioning along the opposite side of the main container serves as a supply or reserve container and is intended to contain a number of refills for replenishing the holder 24: when such becomes necessary. The container C is preferably of a length substantially equal to the length of the container A and embodies a tubular body portion 26 secured to a side wall 7 by brackets 27. These brackets 27 are also provided with split sleeve portions for'receiving the tubular body portion 26 and the body portion may either be fixed to the brackets as by soldering or the like, or be held in position solely by the gripping action of the sleeve portions about the tubular body portion. These brackets 27 hold the tubular body portion 26 in slightly spaced relation to its attaching side wall 7 mid-way between the upper and lower edges thereof. The tubular body portion 26 is closed at one end by a suitable closure plug 28 and at its opposite end by removable closure cap 29 permitting ready removal of the refill supply of cosmetics contained in the tubular body portion. The refills may consist of various forms of cosmetics and if so desired the cosmetics may be sealed and vended in the containers C and when the supply in the container has been eX- hausted a new container may be replaced in the brackets 27 by removing the closure cap 29.

In use, the tubular containers B and C provide finger grips whereby the device may be conveniently held for use of cosmetics from either of the

12 and 13 are opened, the mirrors 18 thereof may be arranged in such angular relation as to reflect difierent views of ones face.

Thus it will be seen that a novel device of this character has been disclosed wherein a reserve supply of cosmetics may be carried for ready use when desired. It will also be observed that the containers B and C are associated with the main container A in such novel manner as to provide finger gripping portions for properly holding the device during use,

Changes in detail may be made to the form of invention herein shown and described, without departing from the spirit of the invention or the scope of the following claims.

Iclaim:

1. In a vanity case, the combination with a maincontainer, of a minor tubular container having a removable cosmetic holder, means mounting the minor container longitudinally of one side wall of the main container, a tubular reserve container having a removable closure cap for one end thereof, and means mounting the reserve container longitudinally of the opposite side wall of the main container, said first and second means projecting outwardly beyond the periphery of said tubular containers.

2. In a vanity case, the combination with a main container having parallel side walls, of a bracket secured to one side wall and having a tubular sleeveportion, a tubular container held in the sleeve. and having a closed end, a cosmetic holder removably closing the open end of the tubular container, brackets secured to the opposite side wall of the main container and having axially aligning sleeve portions, a tubular refill containerheld in the aligning sleeve portions and having a closed end, and a removable closure cap for the open end of the refill container. V

3. A vanity case comprising a main container having a bracket mounted upon the side wall thereof, said bracket provided with a sleeve portion, and a minor container slidable in said sleeve portion, said minor container provided with closures having flanges of a width greater than the inner width of said sleeve portion, said closures being positioned at either end of said minor container, one closure being removable, said closures preventing said minor container from becoming detached from said main container except when said last mentioned closure is manually removed.
