IMPROVEMENT IN CLOTHES-DRIERS.

Specification forming part of Letters hPatent No. 180,300, dated July 25, 1876; application filed May 24,1876.

WINTERs, ot' Bloomville in the county of Seneca and State ot' Ohio, have invented new and useful Improvements in Glothes-Driers; and hereby declare that thefollowing is a full, clear*` and exact description thereof, reference heilig had to the accompanying drawing and the letters of reference thereon.

The letters on each drawing refer to the same part, and form a part ot' thespecication.

Figure I is a full view, in perspective, of our improved clothes-drier. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal vertical sectional view of the top part or reel-head.7 Fig. 3 is a view of the lower plate E, and a horizontal view of the arms A, showing the beveled shoulder M, which ts in lthe recess N, out therefor in the lower plate E, as shown in Fig. 3 of the drawing.

The object and purpose of our invention is to construct a clothes-drier that is durable in lall its parts, convenient, and that can be furnished at small cost to the purchaser.

To enable others skilled in the art to which our invention appertains to make and'use the same, referring to the drawings, it will be seen Fig. 3 consists of the lower plate E, the recess N, and a horizontal sectional view of the lower part of the arms A and beveled shoulder M thereon, as shown in Fig. 4, which, when in position, fits in the recess n in the lower plate E.

Fig. 2 consists of a longitudinal vertical through the upper and lower plates B and E into the lever F, as shown in Fig. l of the drawing. It will also be seen that lthe bolt G, passing through the lever F, forms a fulcrum, on which the lever F is operated, and lis adjusted on the segment H, as shown, and

secured by the pin I, by means of whichthe whole ofthe top may he brought within reach ofthe operator, as shown in Fig. I of the drawing.

Having thus described the construction and operation of our improved clothes-drier, what we claim, and wish to secure by Letters Patent, is-

Ihe reel-head consisting of thev arms A, provided with the projectingppoint M, which fits into the grooved recess n, secured in position bythe top and lower plates B and E and the bolts D, in combination with the 1ever F, segment H, securedv and adjusted by the pin I on the bolt G to the post- K, as described, and for the purpose set forth.
