CAKE-GRIDDLE.
SFECIFICATION fonning part of Letters Patent No. 411,619, dated September 24, 1889.
Application tiled Tune 5, 1889. Serial No. 813,236. (No model.)
.TO all whom, t may concern:
ne n. known that I, MILTON SHAEFFER, :i ein! zen of the United States, residing at Canton, in the county of Stark and State of Ohio, have 5 invented certain new and useful Improvements in Oake-Griddles; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a part ro of this specification, and to the letters and iignres of reference marked thereon,in which- Figure l is an isometrical view showing the griddle open. Fig. 2 is a detached view of the handle, showing the manner of attachr5 ing the same. p
The present invention has relation to cakegriddles; and it consists in the different parts and combination of parts hereinafter described, and particularly pointed out in the zo claim.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in each figure of the drawings. In the accompanying drawings, A and B represent the griddle sections, which are z5 hinged together by means of the hinges a.. The griddle section A is formed flat and smooth upon its top or upper side, and, as shown, is provided at its ends with the handles b and the studs c, which handles and` studs 3o are formed integral. The section B is provided with cake-cups d. In the drawings three cups are shown; but it will be understood that a greater or less number may be used, it desired. 55 For the purpose ot providing' a means to prevent the grease from dripping the fianges d are provided, which iianges are located substantiall as shown in the drawings, and, as shown, are located upon the hinged side of the section B. For the purpose of prevent- 4o ing the tianges d from striking the cakes when the section B is turned over on top of the section A, said ianges are set a short distance away from the peripheries of the cakecups d.
For the purpose of supporting the section B at the required height, the studs c are provided, and are so located that the section B will strike the top or upper ends of the studs c when the sect-ion B is turned over section 5o A. It will also be seen that the flanges d will act as guides for the cakes, thereby preventing the cakes from lapping one over the other as they are conveyed from the section B to the section A. 55
For the purpose of providing a means of operating the section B the handle C is provided, which handle is attached to the section B by means of the arms a. and the springarms a2.
The sprin g-arms are provided with the rightangled portions b2, which enter apertures in the arms a', as illustrated in Fig. 2.
Having fnll7 described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters 65 Patent, is
The combination of the hinged sections A and B,the section A provided with the handles b and the studs c, the sectionB provided with the cake-cups (Z and the guide-flanges d', sub- 7o stantially as and for the purpose specified.
In testimony that I claim the above I have hereunto subscribed my name in the presence of two witnesses.
