My invention relates to overalls and has for an object thereof toprovide an improved garment of such construction formed with a drop seat, provided with straps or belt members for holding the same in position, said straps upon being tightened being vadapted to draw the drop seat taut so as to cause the same snugly to t the body of a wearer.

Another object of the-invention resides in forming said drop seat with a waist band along the upper portion of the same, having loops attached to the ends thereof, and to pass said straps through said loops, said strapsbeing attached, each at one end thereof, to the body ofthe garment. forwardly of vsaid loops and abovethe waistline, said straps `having fastening members at their free ends for securing the same together and in place around the waist of the wearer.

A still further object of the inventionresides in forming extensions on the body p0r- .tion of. the overall adapted to underlie the marginal portions of said drop seat at the sides thereof and to form pockets on said free side edges f said drop seat, so that upon the `drawing of the strap members together to hold the drop seat in place, the openings to`said pockets become closed and said poc ets caused to lie snugly against the body of the wearer. For the purpose of illustrating the invention I have shown a garment indicated in its entirety at A, which. generally similates in appearance an ordinary pair of overalls. Thisigarment comprises 'a body portion 10y adapted to cover the-hips and waist of the wearer, which body portion has attached to it legs 11 and 12. This overall is constructed of a front 13 and a back 14 forming the body portion 10 and -the legs 11 and '12, which front 13 extends upwardly to provide a bib 15.

At the upper portion ofthe back 14, at either side thereof, V-shaped portions of material are cut awa to form a drop seat 16. This drop seat, so ormed, has upwardly conl verging

23 and 24, each of which is attached at one end to the upper po'rtion of the apron 15, and at the,other end to one of the body extensions 21, 22. These suspenders are provided with buckles 25 so that the same Way may be adjusted to pro erly hold the garment supported on the bo -y `of the user in the ordinary and customary manner.

The advantages of my invention reside particularly in the fact that the garment, even though over-sized, is caused to lit "snugly and `neatly about the body of the wearer so that an extremely comfortable and neat appearlng overall is produced. The' drop seat is not only 'permitted to fit snugly upon the body extensions and theI person of the wearer,

4. A garment of the class described, comprising a body portion formed with a drop seat having free edges along the sidestliereof, extensions formed on said body portion underlying the free edges of said drop seat.

pockets formed in said extensions having converging openings disposed substantially beneath the converging edges of said seat portion, and suspender straps for the garment, the forward ends .of said straps being connected to the front portion of the garment ,andthe rear ends thereof connected to said extensions, the latter connections being made to bring the rear portions of the straps in sub- Y stantial alignment with the pocket openings, and means for holdingthe drop seat closed against said pockets.

A garment of the class described comprisingK a body'portion havinga drop seat f with free edges along its sides, loops secured to said drop seat atthe up er portion thereof, a pair of straps passing t rough said loops, lsaid straps being attached to` said body por-- tion forwardly of saiddrop seat at points above said loops to hold said free edges from gapping, and fastening means at the othel` ends of said straps for'securing the same to* gether at the front of the garment.

A` garment of the class described comprising a body portion having a drop seat w'ith free Aedges along its sides, fastening mem-V Y bers secured to said body portion, members for slidably connecting said fastening members to said drop seat, said fastening members being attached to saidbody portion at points above said last named members for holding `the free edges of said drop seat from gapping. l

A garment of the class described comprising a body portion having a drop seatV lwith free edges along its sides, straps secured "to said body. portion, members attached to said drop seat for slidably connecting said straps therewith, ,said straps being attached to said -body 'portion' at points above said members for drawing said drop seat in place .and holding'the free edgesthereof from gapping, and means for holding said straps in v drawn position.

A garment of the class described comprisin a body portion and a drop seat with free edges along its sides, straps connected to said -body portion and drop seat, said straps for said garment havingportions oblique relative to the Wearers waistline connected y 'to the drop seat and body portion for simultaneously drawing said drop seat upwardly and ,forwardly to hold the free edges of the drop seat from gapping, means for holding said straps in drawn position, said connections of said straps to said body portion and drop seat serving to retain said drop seat in l closed position.
