As a further object, the invention embodies in a. box of the character set forth a slotted portion in the upper wall of the box body for the reception of an end of the panel whereby the same may be disposed in an angular display position.
Other objects reside in the simplicity of construction and mode of use of the box, the economy with which it may be produced and the general efficiency derived therefrom.
With the above recited and other objects in view, reference is had to the following description and accompai'iying drawings, in which there is exhibited one example or embodimcnt of the invention, while the claims define the actual scope of the same.
In the drawings:
Figure 1 is a perspective view illustrating the box opened with the watch supporting panel in display position.
Figure 2 is a sectional view therethrough taken approximately on the line indicated at 2-2 in Figure 1.

the box body broken away to disclose the underlying structure.
Referring to thedrawings by characters of reference, the box body includes a base or bottom wall 5 and a top wall 6 which is vertically spaced therefrom and supported by marginal walls 7. The top wall is provided with a rectangular substantially central cutout portion 8. A substantially box shaped member 9 equal in length to and of lesser width than the cutout portion 8 and open at its upper end is arranged within the body with the end marginal walls in contact with the end edges of the cutout portion 8 and with one side marginal wall 11 in contact with one side edge of the cutout portion 8 to provide a depression 12 extending downwardly from the upper wall of the box body and to define a slot 18 between the remaining side marginal wall 14k of the member 9 and the remaining side edge of the cutout portion 8. Preferably, a filler element 15 is arranged on the upper surface of the bottom wall 5 between the marginal wall 7 of the box body and the side marginal wall 14 of the member 9. A panel 16, preferably covered with plush 17, is designed for the purpose of supporting the wrist watch which includes the case A and the wrist encircling element B. The box body may be provided with a suitable cover 18 adapted to telescope the box body and preferably hingedly connected'thereto at 19.
In use, the case A of the watch is arranged in substantially fiat contact with one surface in the panel 16 while the wrist encircling element is trained around the panel to properly associate the wrist watch therewith. To display the watch, the lower end of the panel 17 is inserted through the slot 13 in such a manner as to dispose the panel in a rearwardly and upwardly inclined position, as illustrated in Figures 1 and 2. Certain types of watches, such as small ladies wrist watches having ribbons or flexible bracelets, may remain on the panel when in display position while the cover is closed. In other types of watches, such as mens wrist watches with heavy straps, the cover cannot be closed while the panel is in display position.
