Description

March 31, 1936. J. GILARDI 2,035,803
CASE FOR AMPULL/E AND THE LIKE Filed July 15, 1955 Patented Mar. 31, 1936 TED STATES.
PATENT OFFICE Application July 15, 1935, Serial No. 31,501 In Mexico May 9, 1935 Claims;
The present invention relates to pasteboard, bristol board or similar cases, and refers more especially to a case for ampullaa and the like, different from those used and known for such a purpose up to the present time, and over which it possesses certain advantages as will be apparent throughout the following description.
The ampullse cases that have been in use and known up to the present time, in the great majorlo-lity of instances, have possessed the inconvenience of being provided with an internal packing which does not protect the ampullae sufiiciently, in the sense that it does not completely prevent their coming into contact with one another, and this causes their breakage quite frequently; on the other hand, the packing extends over and entirely covers up the said articles in such a manner as to make it impossible to scrutinize the contents of the case by the simple raising of the lid of same.
According to the invention herein described the case has the advantage that besides holding the ampullac perfectly in place in its interior, isolating completely one from another so that it is impossible for them to come into contact with each other, it permits the said ampullae to be most quickly examined at first sight, by simply lifting up the cover of the case, thus exhibiting the referred to contents at the same time in a most attractive and elegant manner. Moreover, the action of removing the ampullae from their case does not present any difficulty whatsoever, it being easy to take them therefrom with the utmost rapidity and security.
Therefore the principal object of the invention is to provide a box or case of the character hereinbefore mentioned, having means by which the ampullae become perfectly placed in its interior, with the said means absolutely preventing the said articles from striking one another or at least from contacting with each other on any of their sides.
Another object is to furnish a case for ampullae or the like provided with means arranged in such a manner as to permit the merchandise to be examined by the sole raising of the lid of the said case, without any internal packing covering the said merchandise.
Another object is to permit the ampullaa, notwithstanding their perfect placement on the inside of the case, to be removed or taken therefrom with all ease and rapidity; and allowing also the placement of ampullae of whatsoever 55 form, whether they be in the shape of a small bottle or vial with a cylindrical base of those whose both ends terminate in a point.
Other uses, advantages and characteristics of the-invention shall be set forth in the following description and by means of the accompanying 5 drawing as an illustration of the invention, with the same reference signs serving to indicate the corresponding parts in the four figures shown, in which:
Fig. 1 presents a conventional perspective view 10 of the case completely open and with the internal lid that furnishes individual packing to the upper portion of the ampullae, closed; the said internal lid being'shown as in raised position by means of broken lines. 15
Fig. 2 illustrates also a conventional perspective View of the open case, as seen on the back side, for thepurpose of showing the part of same which furnishes individual packing to the opposite end of the ampullae. go
Fig. 3 is a view of the plan of the internal lid through which the ampullae can be examined, illustratingwith its indented projecting and unbent part, how it looks when it furnishes individual packing to the upper part or head of 25 the mentioned articles.
Fig. =1 exhibits a cross out according to the line A-B of the case shown in Fig. 2.
It is to be borne in mind that the form of the outside case is shown in the mentioned drawing 30 only as an example and that it can be changed and have diverse forms.
Referring specifically to the attached drawing, the artifice according to the present invention comprises, the outside case properly speaking 35 Ill, to which is joined the lid l I, on the back side, which closes it, the two pieces completing the box or case in its external aspect. On the inside of the case Hi, there is conveniently provided and in the manner as indicated hereinbelow, a lining 40 I2, preferentially made of flexible bristol board, which lining infolds constitute a part for the packing or placement of the articles within the case; the mentioned lining I2 is folded in such a manner as to form a species of pad I 3. of an oblong rectangular form, which is where the heads or terminals at point M, of the ampullae I5, rest. The said lining l2, after constituting the mentioned oblong rectangular pad l3, continues forming a level surface M that contacts with the bottom I6 of the case, it being doubled afterwards for forming another oblong rectangular piece that is composed of the vertical surface l1, the horizontal one l8, and, lastly, the vertical projecting part l9, which is attached to the anterior longitudinal wall 20, of the case In.
The said oblong rectangular piece formed by the sides I1, I18 and I9, furnishes lodgment and packing to the base 2|, or opposite side of the ampullae l5, and there being provided on its vertical side H, with perforations 22, of circular, quadrangular, or any adequate shape and size such as may be required for the ampulla l5, that are packed. These ampullae can have the form that is illustrated in the attached drawing, in which case the perforations 22, will have a circular form, or be double-pointed in which case the perforations will be very much smaller and in any form.
On the whole unit as described hereinbefore, there is provided an internal lid 23, (Fig. 3), held by a projecting part 24 to the back longitudinal wall, which permits said lid to have an ascending and descending movement; the said lid 23 is provided with a window 25, sufficiently large to allow the examination of the contents of the case' by simply raising the outside lid II which may be covered with Cellophane or any other similar transparent product for the purpose indicated. The said internal lid 23, is provided with an indented projecting part 26, that is bent inwards so that it remains parallel to the vertical wall of the rectangular pad l3, which forms the lining I2, with each one of the teeth of. this projecting part 26 serving as a separator or spacer of the heads or ends [4, of the ampullee I5; the entrant grooves 21, of the mentioned projecting part can have v any form that is deemed convenient and preferential according to the requirements of the ends M of the ampullae contained in the case, as they penetrate therein and receive individual packing, it also being possible for them to have a separation in accordance with the needs. The end 28 face N3 of the folded lining. a
" of the internal lid 23, rests on the horizontal sur- Although the preferred form of carrying =my invention into practice has been shown and described, I do not limit myself to the exact arrangement of the secondary parts just as they sider as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. In a container for ampullae or the like, a box-like case, a lining therefor resting in part at the bottom of. the case, said lining being formed to provide an oblong rectangular piece, whose height extends, more or less, to the middle of the bottom of the said case, and which piece provides a support for the anterior or front ends of the ampullm; and an opposite piece, also rectangular and oblong of the same height as the bottom of the case, doubled so as to form a vertical surface, a horizontal one, and a projecting part attached to the anterior longitudinal wall of the said case; the said vertical-surface being provided with adequate perforations in which there are adjusted, penetrating therein, the back ends of the ampullae; an open internal lid and provided with an indented projecting part, arranged over the said parts of the lining.
2. A case for ampullee, according to claim 1, in which the opposite pieces, oblong and rectangular, wherein the ampullae are lodged, can constitute independent pieces, or say one sole piece conveniently folded, in which case the central part of same becomes attached to or simply rests on the bottom of the said case.
3. A case for ampullae and the like, including a box-like member, rests therein for supporting the respective ends of the ampullaa, and an internal section overlying and vertically movable with respect to the rests and. having apart interfitting with and preventing separation of the ampullae' from the rests, said internal section being formed to expose the ampullm.
4. A case for ampullae and the like, including a box-like case, rests therein to support the respective ends of the ampullae, and a section vertically movable with respect to and overlying the rests, said section having a part depending in advance of one of the rests and formed with a series of openings each adapted to cooperate with one of the ampullae to hold it spaced from the remaining ampullae and on its rests. V
5. A construction in accordance with claim 4, wherein the internal section is formed with an opening practically coextensive with the distance between the rests to expose the respective ampullee throughout this distance.
