According to my invention I provide a combination package consisting of a box containing a carrier so proportioned and arranged as in effect to provide three compartments. The candles are displayed in the central compartment and the candle holders are mounted in the sides of the carrier and the cover is preferably provided with a slot through which the contents can be seen.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a package embodying my invention the cover being open so as to display the contents.

parts of the carrier separated from each other.
Fig. 4: is a perspective view of the carrier showing, the candles in place and with one candle holder omitted and another candle holder about to be inserted or withdrawn as the case may be. a
The box is preferably formed of pasteboard and may be of any suitable construction and preferably provided with a hinging cover or, flap 6. v,
The carrier 7 supports the candles8 and the candle holders 9 and is preferably removable from the box. i
The carrier has a platform portion 10 which is provided with bent-down end portions 11 which serve as legs to'support the platform within the walls of the carrier and leave sufiicient space above the platform to accominodate'the desired number of candles. The body'of the carrier may be also formed of paste-board and have its ends l2'overlapped and secured together, if desired.
The usual candle holders are provided with wire stems 13 which are adapted to be inserted in the cake on which the candles are number of openings 14 along the opposite sides adapted to accommodate the stems of these candle holders below the platform 10.
The candles and candle holders may be asand the carrier set into the box as shown in Fig. 1. This carrier being located at the ment 16 beneath the platform 10 which supports the candles. p
The box is preferably provided with side flaps 17 which give additional protection to the bodies of the candle holders and cover the compartments 1515. The cover 6 is also preferably provided with a flap 18 which is adapted to fit in between the end of the car Fig 3 is a perspective View of the rier 7 and the adjacent wall of the box so as to hold the cover closed.
p The cover is also preferably provided with an opening or slot 19 arranged in line with the contents so that the same may be seen without opening the box thus avoiding the 4 bodies of the candle holders are usually formed of icing which is comparatively fragile. The packages are cheap to make and easy to pack and are compact and attractive and at the same time afford a maximum protection of the contents and facilitate distribution, display, and sale.
I claim:
1. A combination package comprisiiig a box containing a carrier, said carrier comprising side walls and a candle tray, said walls being perforated to receive the stems of candle holders and said tray afl'ording a support for candles and a support for overhung candle holders having their stems received within the wall perforations.
2. A combination package comprising a box having a bottom, walls, and a cover, and a carrier mounted in the box, a candle tray within the carrier, said carrier being spaced from at least one side of the box and provided with means intermediate the cover and bottom to receive a plurality of stems, each stem and said carrier constituting a cantilever support for a fragile bulbous article to one side of the carrier for keeping the weight of said articles off the bottom or cover of said box.
3. A combination package comprising a box having a bottom, walls, and a cover, and a carrier mounted in the box, a candle tray within the carrier said carrier being spaced from opposite walls of the box on at least two sides and on each of said sides beingprovided with means intermediate the cover and bottom to receive a plurality of stems, each stem and said carrier constituting a cantilever support for a fragile bulbous article on the side of the carrier for keeping the weight of said articles off the bottom or cover of the box.
4. A combination package comprising a box having a bottom, walls, and a cover, and a carrier mounted in the box, a candle tray within the carrier, said carrier being spaced from at least one side of the box and provided with means intermediate the cover and bottom to receive a plurality of stems, each stem and said carrier constituting a cantilever support for a fragile bulbous article to one side of the carrier for keeping the weight of said articles off the bottom or cover of said box, said cantilever supporting means being constructed to limit the inward movement of said stems, to an amount sufficient to maintain the fragile articles out of contact with said carrier.
