The main object of this invention is to proand is provided with a pair of resilient paral lel clamping elements between which the thickness of the curtain is inserted to hold said curtain in draped position in front of a window casing.
Still another object of this invention is to provide a holder which will cause the curtain to hang vertically in front of an open window and will prevent the curtain from waving in the wind thereby retaining the same in an orderly position.
The above and other objects will become apparent in the description below in which characters of reference refer to like-named parts in the drawing.
Referring briefly to the drawing, Figure 1 is a perspective view of the bracket showing the application thereof to a window casing.
Figure 2 is a longitudinal sectional elevational view of the bracket taken on line 22 of Figure 3. e

Figure 4 is a rear end elevational View of the bracket.
Referring in detail to the drawing, the numeral 10 indicates an annular disk which serves as the shield of the bracket. The peripheral edge of the shield has scallops 11 formed thereon in order to enhance the appearance of the article. At the axis of the disk a dished-out portion 12 is formed. This portion 12 forms a hemi-spherical pocket on the reverse side of the disk. The disk with the dished-out portion is ornamented so as to represent a rosette and one of the petals 13 has a leg 14 extending therefrom. This leg extends parallel to the reverse side of the disk after a return bend 15 is formed at the extremity of the petal 13. This leg extends 0 upwardly adjacent the reverse side of the disk and is separated from the latter by a small gap into which the curtam materlal is inserted. The gap is illustrated in Figure 2 by the numeral 18. Intermediate the length of the leg an annular enlargement 16 is formed which is provided with a dished-out portion 17 which registers partly in the pocket of the dished-out portion 12. An arm 19 extends from the upper end of the leg at right angles to the latter and is entirely concealed from the arm at right angles to the latter and is provided with holes 21 thru which means such as screws pass when the bracket is to be secured to the lower corners of a window casing 22.
The brackets are to be used in pairs, one on each side of a window casing. The ear is secured to the window casing by means as reviously stated. The arm 19 off-setsthe shield 10 a small distance from the surface of the window casing. The entire bracket is of unitary construction and a certain amount of resiliency is had between the leg 14 and the shield 10. As the corner of the curtain material is inserted into the gap 18 from the top and passes the dished-out portions of the leg and the shield it is deflected by the dished-out portion on the leg into the pocket of the dished-out portion of the shield and is thereby frictionally held in place in the gap 18 between the leg and the shield by the resiliency of both of these members in combination with I the cooperation of the dished-out portions on the leg and shield. I claim:
A curtain hanger comprising a shield, a resilient member connected to said shield and extending parallel to the latter, a perforated right angled element extending from said member, said shield having a dished-out portion formed therein, said portion forming a depressed pocket on the reverse side of the shield, St1Cl1116111b 3f having a raised portion intermediate its length complemented to the pocket on the shield and registering partly in the pocket thereof, to frictionally retain a curtain between the shield and the member.
