IMPROVEMENT IN PILLOWS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No..168,l26, dated September 28, 1875 application filed June 12, 1875.
To all whom it may concern: 1 Be it known that I, GARDNER T. BARKER,
of Pittsfield, in the county of Berkshire and open sack to be-temporarily filled, as above described, and closed, of another small sack filled with feathers. hair, or other fine soft material, small and light enough to be carried about easily, and'forming a soft upper side to r the complete pillow when the other pocket is filled out with leaves, and the like, to make the size required.
The drawing is a longitudinal section of a pillow of, my invention.
The sack is made in two pockets, A B, by means of a partition, 0, or any other suitable means, one of which, A, is stuffed with cotton, fine hair, or other approved material, and permanently closed, and the other is open at one end, D, and has a flap, E, to close it, and fasten temporarily by strings F, straps, and buckles, or other suitable means. The cotton or hair part will be onlya small portion of the whole pillow when fully stuffed, being required only to furnish a soft covering to the coarse material in B, forming the greater portion of the size, so as to reduce it as much as possible for packing it for transportation. Thus the sportsman, soldier, or other camper-out being provided with this improved pillow may have a soft and comfortable pillow without carrying one of full size, and while depending upon leaves or other matters to be gathered on the camping-ground.
