I Figure 6 is an enlarged longitudinal section of the device of Figure 5', y
Fi ure 7 is a view of Figure 6 in open position and with the cosmetic stick extended.
The particular form of the device of our invention shown in Figures 1 to 4 inclusive comprises a casing 10, 0 en at the to and closed at the bottom an having the ongitudinal opening 11. v
A cover member comprises the slidable member 12 hingedly attached to the member 13 at 14. The upper portion of the member 13 has a cover 15, ca able of placement over the open end \of t e casing 10," the cover 15 having the tip 16.
The slidable member 12 has two tongues, or prongs, 17 17 extended through the o ening 11 and through the side of a penci or lip-stick, carrier 18, containing a lip stick 19.
The prongs 17, 17 thus act to retain the member 12 in slidable position upon the casing 10, and at the same time cause the parts are designated by cosMnrIo-s'ncx HOLDER.

lip stick carrier 18 to move longitudinally within the casing'lO with the slidable move ment of the "member 12.x I
The. operation of the device is as follows:'-
'The' device'when not in use is in the position shown in'Figures land 3, hen it is'desired to use 'the'lip stick, the slidable f member'12. is moved upwardly; thus moving the lipstick 19 outwardly of the casinglO, and at the same time the member 13' of its own weight revolves upon'the hinge 14 into I the positions'shown' in'Fi re 4: thusiallo'w ing the use 01": the lip}st1ck'.f To close the device, 'i't is 'tiltedito. one" side causing the member 131 to abut uponthe casip 10 and wardlyh .6, and 7, the casing "10 is of rectangular 'shape, and the cover member comprising the slidable member 20is' hinged at2l through the slidable member 12? is move do' wn In the modification shown in Figuresfi,

In the operation of this modified formthe slidable member 20 is moved upwardly the release of the. member '20 allowing it to a fall into open position as shown'in Figure 7.
It will thus be noted that 'ourdevice com- ,prises a lip stick, or cosmetic stick, holder of such construction that the upward'move- 'ment or a slidable member will open the device, move the cover into operative position and expose the contents for use.
i -We do not limit ourselves to the 'particular size, shape, *number or arrangement of parts as shown. and described as these are given simply as a means for clearlydescrib- 1n the device of our invention.
