Description
M HINMAN. Whiffletree-Staples.
NOJSLOZG. Patented May19,1874.
UNITED STATES PATENT GFFIeE.
MUNSON HINMAN, OF HALLOG K, ILLINOIS. I
IMPROVEMENT IN WHlFFLETREE-STAPLES.
Specification foriningpart of Letters Pattnt No. 151,026, dated May 19, 1874; application filed March 7, 1874.
To all whom it may co-ncern:
Be it known that I, MUNsoN HINMAN, of Hallock, Peoria. county and State of Illinois, have invented a new and useful Improvement in \Vhifiletree-Staple, of which the following is a specification:
Figure l is a top view of my improved staple. Fig. 2 is a rear view of the same; and Fig. 3 is a detail section of the same, taken through the line w 00, Fig. 2.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
My invention has for its object to furnish an improved Whiffletree-staple, which may be readily attached to the whitfletree, and shall be strong and durable. The invention consists in an improved whifiletree-staple formed of the loop and strap cast in one piece, as hereinafter fully described.
A is the loop, and B is the strap, of the staple, which are cast of malleable iron in one piece. In the end parts of the strap 13 are formed holes to receive the bolts by which the staple is secured to the \vhitlletrec.
The staple A 13 thus constructed can be readily attached to the whitlietree, and will be strong and durable, and at the same time may be neat in appearance.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- A Whiffletree-staple formed of the loop A and strap B cast in one piece, substantially as shown and described.
MUN SON HINMAN.
