My invention relates to the combination of certain devices bywhich the usual saddle, with all of its attachments-the belly-bands, 85e.- used inv harness are dispensed with and the shal't-tugs are attached by means of a snaphook to the hame-clip. I attain this object by the mechanism illustrated in the accompanying drawing, which gives a detailed view, in

E representsa cast-iron plateloop, attached to the bottom of the shaft by means of screws. This plate-loop consists of a cast-iron plate from two to live inches long and from one` half to one inch wide, flat on the side next to the wood, and of a loop formed integral with or attached t-o the plate, to prevent the shafttug D from slipping o' from the end of the shaft.
F represents the end of the shaft passing through the end of the shaft-tug D.
